Birth Support within South East London, Bromley and Kent Birth and Postnatal Doula

Working to guide, support and empower parents in pregnancy, birth and beyond

Hello and congratulations

I'm happy you are looking for additional support for you and your family. Support that is focussed on you and your needs.

I am a trained birth and postnatal doula and work within South East London and the Bromley borough.

As your birth or postnatal doula I will be a consistent and reassuring presence. Supporting you practically, physically and emotionally so that you will feel prepared, confident and empowered in pregancy, birth and bringing your baby home.

Whenever and however you intend to give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body, and your spirit for the rest of your life.

Words can’t describe how amazing, supportive and helpful Lisa was during my pregnancy and birth. I’m a first time mum and it’s such a daunting experience, so I really wanted someone to be there to support myself and my husband and Lisa was fantastic from the very first meeting. She is approachable, friendly and immensely supportive. She also has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to pregnancy and birth and she was willing to do research to help me with any specific issues.

The two antenatal sessions helped us to prepare for the birth. We went over all eventualities and practised birth positions, massage techniques and discussed what to do when I went into labour. I also had the opportunity to discuss anything I wanted to and ask any questions. We also had a postnatal session which was invaluable. It really helped me and my husband to understand what the first days and weeks with baby would be like. Lisa went above and beyond through the whole process, giving me support via WhatsApp, going for walks with me and helping us to practise assembling our birth pool.

When I was in labour it was so reassuring to have someone there who could hold space for us to make decisions and who we could discuss options with. She was the most amazing support and I’m so grateful she was there to help us through. Even though my birth didn’t go to plan, I’ve come away from it feeling that it was a positive experience, because I made all the decisions and had the space to fully consider those decisions. Lisa gave me the confidence to advocate for myself. If you’re considering hiring Lisa as your doula you will not regret it. It was worth every penny!

Lisa helped our little family (mum, dad and one year old) after my hernia operation. In the interview the main reason we choose her was that in addition to asking about our son she also asked about me and what support I would like. I had been so worried about my son being able to play, feed and be changed that I had completely forgotten about myself.

Lisa is warm hearted, professional, reliable, knows how to help without being asked and fit into our family seamlessly. We wouldn't have got through the first few days after my op as smoothly and gently without her. She is a superstar and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs any extra physical and emotional help supporting their family after a baby.

Lisa came and helped our family with our third child. I say helped our family because with her experience as a mum she was able to give a little to all of us, which she did gladly, with a smile and comforting demeanor. Although we didn’t need as much help making decisions as we had done previously, Lisa was very knowledgeable about what, when, why and also in giving suggestions and being supportive with anything we needed help with.

I wish we knew Lisa when we had our previous children, she would have been a huge asset. I can gladly recommend Lisa.

What is a Doula?

Guide, Support, Empower

A Doula as a trained birth partner provides continuous emotional, physical and educational support to both the birthing person and partner, helping to sign post to reliable information sources to help empower you to make informed decisions when needed and provide a safe calming presence during labour as early as you feel you need it.

Once baby has arrived, a doula will ‘parent the parents’ to give you space to recover from birth, provide support in the home and help you as parents to learn and grow in confidence at responding to your baby’s needs.
